Sheep Show

Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at 6:00 p.m.

4-H/FFA Livestock Complex

Rules

1.  

Sheep must meet Kentucky health requirements.

2.  

Sheep must be on the fairgrounds by 5:30 p.m. day of show. Breeding show will start promptly at 6:00 p.m., followed by market lamb showmanship and the market lamb show.

3.  

Market lambs must have less than ¼" fleece.

4.  

No more than two entries per person per class.

5.  

Sheep may only be shown in one individual class.

6.  

Breeding classes are open to everyone. Market Lamb classes are open to all 4-H and FFA members enrolled in a sheep project.

7.  

All breeding sheep must have registration papers that will be presented to the show committee.

Show order: Dorset, Hampshire, Suffolk, Southdown, Wether (Crossbred Ewe)

Open: 1st - $15 2nd - $10 3rd - $7 4th - $4
Franklin County 4-H & FFA: 1st - $10 2nd - $ 5 3rd - $5 4th - $5
         
1.    Yearling Ram 5.    Yearling Ewe
2.    Late Born Ram Lamb 6.    Early Born Ewe Lamb
3.    Early Born Ram Lamb 7.    Late Born Ewe Lamb
4.    Champion Ram 8.    Champion Ewe

 

 

 

Market Lamb Classes

By weight - no more than 15 lambs per class break

Open: 1st - $15 2nd - $10 3rd - $7 4th - $4
Franklin County 4-H & FFA: 1st - $10 2nd - $ 5 3rd - $5 4th - $5

 

Champion Market Lamb: $200

Reserve Champion: $100
