Welcome to the 2008 Franklin County Fair and Horse Show!
On behalf of the Franklin County Fair Board and myself, I want to welcome you to the Franklin County Fair and Horse Show Web site. 2008 marks our 55th year and we are still working hard to provide the citizens of Franklin County a quality event they can enjoy. The development of Lakeview Park has provided us a home for the Fair. We have been able to host quality horse shows, tractor/truck pulls, and numerous other activities for the entire family. We have hosted pageants for all ages – from the baby shows to the Red Hat Society. Our winners have gone on to state competition and represented us proudly. Our exhibit hall has given residents the chance to display their talents in 4H, FFA, arts, crafts and numerous other categories. Winners have gone on to the Kentucky State Fair and won numerous classes. Over the past three years we have been able to build two state-of-the-art livestock buildings to help improve our livestock shows. In January 2008 at the Kentucky Association of Fairs & Horse Shows Annual convention, we received the following awards: All-Kentucky County Fair 2007 and 1st Place (Newsprint Division) Catalog. We also received 3rd Place in the "Blue Ribbon One Night Show" category from the Kentucky Walking Horse Association that same weekend at their annual meeting. We are proud of our past accomplishments; however, we still want to continue to build the Franklin County Fair and Horse Show to be one of the best in Kentucky. The Franklin County Fair And Horse Show would not have been successful without the generous support of the area businesses, volunteers and residents of Franklin County. We say a big "THANK YOU" to all and invite you to visit the Franklin County Fair and Horse Show July 14-19 at Lakeview Park. We would also like to "THANK" the Franklin County Fiscal Court, Park Staff, Road Department, Fire Department, EMS, the Sheriff's Department and the City of Frankfort for all their support. In closing, if you have any suggestions for improvement, would like to volunteer, or serve as a Board Member, please contact one of the Fair Board members listed on this Web site.
